“Getting to know my clients involves learning about their family, finances, beliefs, situations, and circumstances. Since these things may change over time, we must make it easy for them to keep things up to date. This allows my recommendations to go beyond "best practices" and be guided more by their goals for achieving financial success…”

The Series 65 is an exam and securities license required by most U.S. states for individuals who act as investment advisors. The Series 65 exam—known formally as the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination—covers laws, regulations, ethics, and topics such as retirement planning, portfolio management, and fiduciary responsibilities. The exam is designed by the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) and is administered by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
The exam was developed to qualify candidates who want to work in the securities industry within a state and to sell investment products, such as mutual funds, variable annuities, and unit investment trusts. The exam covers the principles of state securities regulations. Each state has its own securities regulations, called blue-sky laws, which were developed to regulate the sale of securities.
